JOHN "JACK" WILSON
NEWPORT – John E. Wilson, 62, died unexpectedly February 23, 2005 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born October 9, 1942 at Newport, Rhode Island, a son of Charles and Mary (Canfield) Wilson. Jack moved to Maine with his family in 1984. He started working with the Town of Newport Public Works Department in 1987 and shortly became department head, retiring in October 2004. Jack was an avid outdoorsman, and especially loved hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Budge) Wilson of Newport; a son John Cary Wilson of Newport; a daughter and husband Dana and Thomas Corrigan of Seattle, Washington; his loving companion, Brenda Baker, and her children, Samuel and Sarah Baker; a brother, David and wife Kathy Wilson of Intervale, NH; a sister, Maureen Wilson of Newtown, CT; and a grandson, Cory Wren Wilson.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Saturday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 PM Sunday, February 27th, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating.
