JOHN R. GARNETT
PITTSFIELD—John R. Garnett, 66, died December 29, 2006 following a brief illness. He was born September 29, 1940 in Middleborough, MA, a son of Norman and Daisy (Lee) Garnett. He owned and operated John Garnett Trucking, Inc. and was involved in the trucking industry for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Pittsfield; a son, Lewis Jackson of Yuba City, CA; 2 daughters, Cindy Garnett of Berwick, Nova Scotia and Becky Garnett of Pittsfield; 2 brothers, Leslie “Sonny” and wife, Doris Garnett of Kingston, Nova Scotia, Charlie and wife Joan Garnett of Carver, MA; 4 sisters, Ilene “Honey” Costa of Barbados, Mona Pearl and husband Lorie “Junior” Lutz of Margaretsville, Nova Scotia, Thelma Mackey of Anchorage, Alaska, Janette and husband, Nick Dyksterhuis of Kingston, Nova Scotia; 1 granddaughter, Jade Garnett-Saunders; a grandson John Lee Garnett-Saunders; and a great grandson, Jamal Garnett-Saunders; a special brother-in-law, Fred Lutz of Puslinch, Ontario.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday and from 1 to 3 PM Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 3 P.M. Wednesday, January 3rd, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Spring interment will be private.
