JOHN RAYMOND MCKENNEY
GREENVILLE, John Raymond McKenney, 79, known to his friends and family as "Ray", died January 13, 2008, peacefully at home with his family in Hubbardston Massachusetts. He was born in Greenville, March 18, 1928, son of Delbert and Sadie (Caron) McKenney. Ray was a lifelong resident of Greenville where he continued to spend his summers. He spent his winters in Hubbardston, MA over the past 20 plus years with his nephew and niece Jim and Denise McKenney.

Ray worked for many years at Indian Hill Farm. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially his summers on Wilson Pond with his family and friends, where he shared nightly campfires, large lobsters, horseshoes and card games. He was an avid sports fan and loved all New England teams. He was a kind person with a generous heart who was always willing to help family, friends and neighbors. Ray appreciated the assistance he received through the years from his neighbors on Washington St.

He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Brown of Waltham MA, Ethel Pillsbury of Benton ME, Kathleen Belliveau of Largo FL, Leah & Charlie Roach of Long Island NY and Lucille & Bob Ryan of Graham NC; several nieces and nephews and their families. Ray was pre-deceased by his parents and three brothers Warren (Greenville), Kenneth (Worcester MA), and Richard (Defiance OH).

Calling hours will be held at the Crosby & Neal Greenville Chapel (located in the Masonic Building), from 5 to 8 PM, Friday, January 18, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Rob Reagan officiating. Spring burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Greenville High School Athletic Fund.
