JOHN W. BIRD
CORINNA – John W. Bird, 87, died December 22, 2004 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born August 16, 1917 at Castle Hill a son of Louis and Mabel (Webber) Bird. John graduated from Corinna Union Academy and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. On September 1st, 1940, he married the former Alice Thurston. He was a Past Commander of the Corinna American Legion, a member of Parian Lodge AF & AM, Corinna, and attended the Corinna United Methodist Church. John will be remembered as the Town Manager for Corinna for over 30 years.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by a brother William Bird of Plymouth; two sisters, Pauline Jude of Orrington, and Kathleen “Jody” Leavitt of Corinna; a brother-in-law and wife, Stewart and Greta Thurston of Caribou; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, John Stewart Bird in 1957.

There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M Monday, December 27th, at the Corinna United Methodist Church with the Revs. Sharon Lovejoy and Bruce Hudson officiating.
