JOHN W. BROOKS
DOVER-FOXCROFT - John W. Brooks, 49, husband of Laurie (Dam) Brooks, died March 24, 2008, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1958, in Exeter, N.H., the son of Ernest Sr. and Mildred (Marshall) Brooks. John had worked as manager of the Dover-Foxcroft transfer station for many years. He was very dedicated to the town and to service in the community.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie of Dover-Foxcroft; his mother, Mildred Brooks of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Patricia Ann Brooks of Dexter; two stepdaughters, Christie Taylor of Penobscot and Audrey Dam of Frankfort; two brothers, Hubert Brooks of Dover-Foxcroft and Ernest Brooks Jr. of Bradford; two sisters, Paula Farris of Dover-Foxcroft and Robin Leavitt of Lisbon Falls; four stepgrandchildren, who fondly called him "Papa Beep-Beep"; several special nieces and nephews, including Katie Farris, Jacob and Zachary Brooks. John will be remembered by many special friends, including two he respected highly, Joe and Connie Sands. He was predeceased by a sister, Rosie Brooks.
