OBITUARIES

KARL W. ELDRIDGE
GARLAND – Karl W. Eldridge, 78, died August 15, 2006 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born July 20, 1928 at Lykens, PA a son of Raymond and Hattie (Smith) Eldridge. He graduated from Forest Hills High School in Queens, NY, Class of 1946. Karl was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army serving during World War II and Korea. He was a longtime member and Chief of Wading River Fire Department. Karl and his wife Lorraine moved to Garland 24 years ago to pursue an easier life style; where he owned and operated Karl’s Appliance Service. He enjoyed woodworking and model trains.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine of Garland; a son Michael and wife Marcella Eldridge of Exeter; a daughter, Marge Foy and her partner, George Hicks of Sebec; 4 grandchildren, Janet, Christine, Daniel, and Lisa; and a great grand-daughter, Autumn. There will be no visitation.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, August 22nd, at the chapel of the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery (new cemetery), 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, with burial following the service. Arrangements are by the Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
