Kathleen "Jody" (Bird) Leavitt
CORINNA – Kathleen “Jody” Leavitt, 87, died January 13, 2013 at a Pittsfield health care facility. She was born April 6, 1925 in Madison, a daughter of Louise and Mabel (Webber) Bird. She graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1943. Jody was employed at the A & P Grocery Store, Moosehead Woolen Mill, Eastland Woolen Mill, Al Bird’s Socony gas station, and owned and operated Jody’s Grocery, all of Corinna. She retired from Dexter Shoe Company. She was a member of Post #73 American Legion Auxiliary, the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Club, all of Corinna.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth and wife Martha Bouchard of Royalston, MA; her daughter Jolene and husband Glen Duplisea of Dexter; 2 grandchildren, Gretchen Duplisea and Stephanie Stoddard; 6 great grandchildren, Kiya, Tatum, Detric, Rilee, Jada, and Kamdyn; and many nieces and nephews.

Jody was predeceased by her first husband, Lloyd Bouchard; her second husband Edmund Leavitt; her brothers Al, John and Will Bird; sisters Ruth Bird, Thelma Boone and Pauline Jude.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, January 17th where funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, at Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with the Rev. Terrence McKinley officiating. Spring burial will be in Corinna Village Cemetery.

CORINNA – Graveside committal services for Jody Leavitt, who died January 13, 2013, will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, May 24th, at Corinna Village Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna.
