KENNETH L. "BUD" MILLS
NEWPORT - Kenneth L. "Bud" Mills, 88, died Feb. 20, 2002, at the Parker Ridge Assisted Living Center, Blue Hill, following a long illness. He was born in Perham, Dec. 10, 1913, the son of Frank and Myrtle (Greenlaw) Mills. He was married to Mary Fairbrother Mills, who died Oct. 20, 1987. Bud worked for Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna and for Guilford Industries in Newport and Guilford, where he operated the Dye House and had a reputation as one of the leading dyers in New England. Bud was an avid outdoors man, enjoying fishing and especially golf and he was a member of the Palmyra Golf Club. He was also an accomplished bowler and loved to read.

He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Richard and Inez Mills of Orange Park, Fla., Barry and Susan Mills of Blue Hill, Michael and Paula Mills of Hattiesburg, Miss., nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in early May, at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport.
