OBITUARIES

LANA JEAN WINTLE
DETROIT - Lana Jean Wintle, 60, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2008. She was born April 26, 1947 at Dexter a daughter of Merle and Marie (Ronco) Carr. She graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1965. Lana was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Newport, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, was active in church missions and especially in youth programs. She enjoyed amateur photography, quilting and crafts, and caring for her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 43 years, Calvin, Lana is survived by 3 sons, Stephen and wife Janet Wintle of Albany, OH, David and wife Rachel Wintle of Newburgh, Michael and wife Colleen Wintle of Detroit; a brother, Peter and wife Jane Carr of Augusta; 3 sisters, Shawna and husband Tom Foye of Sidney, Judy and husband Wayne Bryant of Williamsville, NY, Jane and husband Tom Haskins of Keene, NY; 7 grandchildren, Alex, Hunter, Madison, Rylan, Tristen, Dylan and Kadence.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, March 22nd , at the Calvary Baptist Church, 39 Grove Street, Newport, with Pastor George Finnemore officiating. Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of services. Burial will be in the spring. Donations may be made in her memory to benefit the youth group programs at Calvary Baptist Church, 39 Grove Street, Newport, ME 04953. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
