LEOLA M. MCATEE
LEOLA M. MCATEE PLYMOUTH: Leola M. McAtee 89 died May 29, 2006 at a Pittsfield hospital following a short illness. She was born in Topsfield, Me. Feb. 18, 1917 the daughter of Lucian and Henrietta (James) Scribner. She was educated in schools of Dixmont and was a graduate of Stetson High School. Leola was married to Edward “Ned” McAtee who died March 6, 1994. Leola’s primary job was a wife and homemaker. She did substitute teaching at the Plymouth School for many years and she also worked at Lovely’s Motel in Newport for several years. Leola was a member and Past Master of the Plymouth Grange for many years, serving as its Master several times. She was the family “care giver” for many of her family members allowing them to stay at home in their declining years. Her family and friends will always remember her homemade donuts.

She is survived by one son and his wife Dennis and Judy McAtee of Plymouth, four daughters and their husbands, Peggy and Almon Hopkins of Detroit, Maxine and Harry Johnson of Machias, Louise and Bayfield Emerson of Hermon, Jacqueline and Todd Hughes of St. Albans, a special niece who lived with Leola, Dorothy Noyes of Pittsfield, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Beside her husband she was predeceased by a son Richard and grandson John Dennis, a brother William Scribner, eight half brothers, and four half sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted 1 PM Sat June 3, 2006 at the Sawyer Cemetery in Plymouth with Rev. Carol Granger officiating. There are no public visitations.
