LEOLA MARIE GRAY
NEWPORT – Leola Marie Gray, 73, died May 4, 2007 at a Bangor hospital. She was born September 4, 1933 at Perham a daughter of Evald and Gladys (Nelson) Dahlgren. Leola moved at a young age with her family to Pittsfield, where she graduated from Maine Central Institute, Class of 1951.

On February 22, 1958, she married George M. Gray. Leola retired from SAD #48 in 1993 where she was the guidance secretary for 25 years. She was a past member of the Newport Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband of Newport, she is survived by 2 sons, Craig and wife Julie of Scarborough, and Mark and partner Tim Michaud of Indialantic, FL; 1 brother, Maynard Dahlgren and wife Wanda of Pittsfield; 2 sisters, Rita Cushman and husband Hartland of Dexter and Elaine Doughty of Hollis Center; 2 brothers-in-law, Sidney Gray and wife Carol and Carl Gray and wife Opal, all of Newport; 1 sister-in-law, Wahneta Dahlgren of Yarmouth; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside committal service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 9th, at the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
