LESTER A. ROBINSON
PALMYRA - Lester A. Robinson 84 died May 3, 2004 at a Pittsfield health care facility after a long illness. He was born in St. Albans Dec. 24, 1919 the son of James W. and Ruth (Deering) Robinson. He was educated in schools of Palmyra and a graduate of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. Lester lived and worked in Hanover Mass for many years. While in Mass. he worked as a bookkeeper at Harvard University, for 10 years. He also worked at the Hanover Water Co., Etna Engineering, and Marine Campus. He moved his family back to Palmyra in the early 1960’s and worked at Brown’s Clothing in Pittsfield, and until he took a position as bookkeeper for Pittsfield Coal and Oil and continued there for many years until his retirement. Lester was a member of the North Hanover Vol. Fire Dept. for many years. He was an active member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge # 195 of Hartland, a member of Anah Shrine of Bangor, and several other Masonic organizations. Lester served on the MSAD #48 school board for several years.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Dorothy (Reed) Robinson of Palmyra, two sons and their wives, Frank and Paulette Robinson of Palmyra, David and Carole Robinson of Detroit, one daughter and her husband Diane and Kendal Davis of Etna, one brother Willis Robinson of East Boston, Mass., one sister Priscilla Austin of Lancaster Mass., 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His sister Genevieve predeceased him.

Masonic graveside funeral services will be conducted 10 AM Thursday May 6, 2004 at the Palmyra Village Cemetery Palmyra with the officers and members of Corinthian Masonic Lodge officiating. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Corinthian Masonic Lodge P. O. Box 362 Hartland, Maine 04943. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home 34 High St. Newport.
