LEWIS L. SARGENT, SR.
PALMYRA & TROY – Lewis Leroy Sargent, Sr., 59, died September 12, 2002 at a Bangor hospital following a struggle with melanoma. He was born September 3, 1943 at Plymouth a son of Preston and Mary (Walker) Sargent. He had worked for the State Department of Transportation for 13 years. Lewis was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying fishing trips in the north woods. He was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Sargent, who died in 1966.

He is survived by his parents of Palmyra; his wife, Juanita (Hustus) Sargent of Palmyra; 2 sons, Lewis Sargent, Jr. and friend Becky Stevenson, and Anthony Sargent, all of Thorndike; his mother-in-law, Beatrice Hustus of Thorndike; 3 sisters, Beverly Cole and friend Fred Sabins, Louise and husband Laurence Cole, all of Troy, Mavis and husband Merle Bither of Palmyra; 2 grandchildren, Danielle and Alex Sargent of Thorndike; brother-in-law, Larry and wife Linda Hustus, sister-in-law Gwen and husband Leslie Stover, all of Thorndike; several nieces and nephews; 3 special cousins, Larry Fuller of Canaan, Russell Walker of Pittsfield, and Jerry Sullivan, Jr. of Thorndike; and special friends, Ronald Hustus of Benton and Merrill Sanderson of Thomaston.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Sunday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday, May 16th, with the Rev. Elizabeth Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in the Thorndike Center Cemetery.
