LLOYD A. BOLSTRIDGE, SR.
CORINNA—Lloyd A. Bolstridge, Sr., 77, passed away April 2, 2006 at Sebasticook Valley Hospital after a brief illness. He was born July 28, 1928 at Corinna, a son of Loren and Lena (Ervin) Bolstridge. He attended the one-room Bassett schoolhouse and graduated from Corinna Union Academy in 1947. Lloyd also attended the University of Maine in Orono. On September 11, 1948, he married Audrey Wentworth. He was employed for 19 years at the Snowflake Canning Company, worked for Hartley’s Chrysler Plymouth, and from there worked as an engineer designing bonding machines for the back of fabrics for Guilford Industries. In 1972, Lloyd and Audrey started the Bolstridge Poultry Farm. They worked side by side for 21 years. They also were dry bean farmers for 30 years. He loved farming, the buying and selling of farm equipment, antiques, and the Corinna Historical Society. He also helped with building and remodeling the homes of his four children. Lloyd was the recreation director for the town of Corinna for a number of years and currently was the curator at the Corinna Historical Society. He was a member of the Corinna United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau, the Maine Antique Tractor Association, the Maine Poultry Association, the Somerset Poultry Association, the Penobscot County Soil and Water District, and the Senator Collins Advisory Committee.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Audrey of Corinna; 3 sons, Lloyd Alden Bolstridge, Jr., David and wife Sandy Bolstridge, all of Corinna, and Dennis and wife Sally of Gorham; a daughter, Jane Dennis and husband Robert of Pittsfield; 7 grandchildren, Amy Chute, Kevin Bolstridge, Jessica and Jamie Bolstridge, Kyle Dennis, Brad Carlow and Rebecca Dunn; 2 step grandchildren, Amy Dennis of Smithfield and Sara Purser of San Francisco, CA; 5 great grandchildren, Venessa and Colby Chute, Willis and Devon Carlow and Marten Dunn; 2 brothers, Col. Leslie J. Bolstridge and Elmer Bolstridge, both of Corinna; 2 sisters, Lois Bowers of Bangor and Leatrice Moore of Crystal River, FL; cousins, nieces and nephews. Lloyd will be missed by his adopted children, Harry and Lynn Anderson of Guilford. He was predeceased by a brother, Loren Dewey Bolstridge, Jr., a sister Lorraine Porter, and a granddaughter, Sue Lynn Bolstridge.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday, April 8th at Crosby & Neal, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday at the Corinna United Methodist Church with Pastor Sharon Lovejoy officiating. Burial will be in the Morse’s Corner Cemetery, Corinna, later in the spring.
