LOIS G. BIGELOW Lois worked in a wide variety of jobs throughout her lifetime. In the early years of her career, she was employed by the Sate Department in Washington D.C. as a clerk-stenographer in the World Trade Intelligence Division, then as personnel director of the Poland Springs Job Corps, and she had worked as a secretary for Senator Edward Muskie. After she and her husband moved to Dover-Foxcroft, they owned and operated an antique shop. They created the Bigelow Real Estate Agency and eventually, Bigelow Travel Agency. Lois was an avid bridge player, and especially enjoyed spending time at her cottage at Sebec Lake. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Arbour of Kenduskeag; 4 grandchildren, Christina and her husband Phil Taheny, and Sarah, Brandon, and Nicole Lynch; 4 great grandchildren, Zachary Breton, Tyler Croan, Calob Chenette, and Lexia Drew; and a sister, Marguerite Cadwell of Bismark, ND. A memorial mass will be conducted 10am Saturday, April 26, 2008, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Fr. James Robichaud, celebrant. Burial will follow in the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., Maine Chapter, 170 Rt. 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, 04105.
