MARGARET E. BEAN
CORINTH - Margaret E. Bean, 77, the wife of the late Ronald H. Bean, died Oct. 22, 2005, at a Bangor hospital, after a long illness. She was born Oct. 30, 1927, in Pownal, the daughter of James Kenneth and Gertrude Harriett (Pratt) Locke. She was a graduate of Higgins Classical Institute in Charleston, Class of 1946 and had been a member and supporter of the Charleston Pentecostal Church since 1972. She had been a singer on the Soul's Harbor Ministries since it's early years and also sang and ministered in area nursing homes. She devoted her life to raising her children and was devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many. She had worked as a cook at Tozier's Restaurant, as an employee of the Corinth Shoe Shop and also had been an Avon Representative for several years until her retirement. She helped her son, Paul, for many years in his battle with diabetes prior to his death in 1999 and was a great neighbor, always willing to help anyone. She had lived alone since the death of her husband on June 20, 2002.

She is survived by three sons, Rev. David Bean and his wife, Phyllis, Kendall Bean and his wife, Bunny and Stephen Bean and his wife, Guylene, all of Corinth; a daughter, Kathryn Hanson of Corinth; two brothers, James Donald Locke and his wife, Lillian, of Scarboro and Robert Carlton Locke and his wife, Delores of Oakfield; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by her special friends, Carroll and Lizbeth Buswell, Betty and Ray Stewart and Lois and Dalton Dunfee.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday from noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the Charleston Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Ronald E. Libby and the Rev. Matthew Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Those who wish may make donations in Margaret's memory to Soul's Harbor Ministries, P.O. Box 275, Corinth, ME 04422. Arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Rd., Corinth.
