OBITUARIES

MARGARET WILDA (MILLER) THERIAULT
GARLAND - Embraced by heart-felt warmth and everlasting love, Margaret Wilda (Miller) Theriault, 76, passed peacefully in the care of her family, April 17, 2004. Seen as the foundation of inner strengths and nurturing, Margaret was the beloved wife of the late, Adelbert M. Theriault Jr., a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Margaret was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Garland, the daughter of the late Raymond and Jennie (True) Miller. Margaret graduated from the Higgins Classical Institute and received her BS in elementary education (K-8) from the Washington State Teacher College in Machias. She began her teaching career at the Whiting Elementary School, later moved on to Pembroke before beginning her 20-year employment with the S.A.D. No. 46 school system, retiring in 1984. After her retirement, she spent four years as a head teacher at the World of Discovery Daycare at Penobscot Bay Hospital in Rockport. During the years of teaching, Margaret touched lives of many children.

Margaret and her husband, Adelbert (Junior), enjoyed square dancing, camping and spending time together near the ocean. She loved sharing time with her "Girls" and their families, being a number one fan in her grandchildren's growing endeavors, walking and keeping fit with her dear friends, scrap booking, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, knitting, gardening and reading. She also enjoyed being with her family in Connecticut, and North Haven Island.

Margaret will be sadly missed by family and friends, including four daughters, Jennie and husband, Jerome Andrews, of Leonardville, New Brunswick, Bette and husband, Jerry Stone, of Camden, Cathy and husband, Anton deBeurs, of Garland, and Peggy and husband, Michael Mathews of Carmel; grandchildren, Paul Dow and his wife, Julie, Suzanne Stone, Margo Dow and her friend, John, Allyson Herring and her fiance, Adam, Joanna Stone and her fiance, Jon, Angie Stone, Angela Herring and her fiance, Kevin, and Nathan Mathews; one great-grandchild, Shayne Dow; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alden and Sherry Mills and Frank and Alice Theriault; nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and special friends, Elaine, Barb, Louise, Ruth, Auntie Charlotte, Mabel, Phyllis, Dottie, Lois, Mimi, Ann and Jack. In addition to her husband, parents and in-laws, she was predeceased by two loving aunts, Wilda and Gretchen; and an uncle, Joe.

Along with all the cherished memories, Margaret passes on her essence of living "without the ingredient of love, nothing is well done." And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28.

As a celebration of her life, a gathering of friends and family will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 23, at the Garland Baptist Church in Garland, followed directly by a memorial service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maine Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 553, Portland, ME 04112. Arrangements are under the care of Cremation Services of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
