MARIE BUKER LOMBARD
ST. ALBANS—Marie Buker Lombard, 84, died April 29, 2003 at a Waterville nursing home. She was born February 28, 1919 at St. Albans the daughter of Harry and Leta (Merrick) Libby. After graduating from Hartland Academy, Class of 1937, she married Earle Buker, Jr. in 1938. After the death of her first husband in February 1972, she married Curtis Lombard in 1974. He predeceased her on January 16, 1998. Marie was employed by SAD #48 for 25 years as the manager of the Hartland school lunch program, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church of Hartland, and a member of the former Twilight Rebekah Lodge #60 of Hartland. She was a Past Noble Grand and Past District Deputy President. She was a member and Past Master of the St. Albans Grange #114 and was also a member of the East Somerset Pomona, the National Grange and the Maine State Grange, where she had served as Flora.

She is survived by her son, Bradford Buker of Waterville; 2 daughters, Margo Springer Carmines and husband, Thomas of Skowhegan, Carole Horch and husband Donald of Searsmont; a stepson, Curt E. Lombard and wife Katherine of St. Albans; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; her sister, Doris Lehr and husband Willard of Pittsfield; a cousin, F. Wayne Libby and wife, Helene of Hartland; several nieces, nephews and other cousins.

Friends may call 6 – 8 P.M., Thursday, May 1st, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday with the Rev. Lloyd Leeman officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church, c/o Mr. Harlow Powers, 733 Great Moose Drive, Hartland, ME 04943-3007; or to the Grange, c/o Mr. Arthur Tyler, Master, St. Albans Grange, St. Albans, ME 04971.
