Marilyn "Mim" Brooks
DEXTER – Marilyn “Mim” Brooks, 84, went to be with her Lord March 14, 2013. She was born November 28, 1928 in Dexter, a daughter of Hugh and Amber (Seavey) Hutchins. She graduated from Dexter High School and married Herbert L. Brooks on October 1, 1949. Mim was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, where she served as Deaconness and member of the Elizabeth Towle Guild. Mim was a member of the West Ripley Extension for 45 years. She and Herbie owned and operated the 45th Parallel Restaurant.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her children, Brent R. Brooks and wife Sherry of Newport, Herbert “Butch” Brooks, Jr. and wife Brenda of Dexter, step daughter Shirley Patterson and husband David of Dexter; grandchildren Brandee, Rachel and Kelcy Brooks; step grandchildren, David, Joel, Samantha, Randy, Richard, Warren, Mark, Johnathan, Victoria, and Kimberly; several great grandchildren. She was prdedeceased by her brother Rodney Hutchins.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3 PM Monday, March 18th, at the First Baptist Church of Dexter, with the Rev. John “Jay

” Brennan officiating. Friends may call from 2 P.M. until the time of services. Private interment will be in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
