MARION L. ROBERTS
GREENVILLE - Marion L. Roberts, loving wife of the late Volney A. Roberts, died Feb. 3, 2002, at C.A. Dean Hospital. She was born April 15, 1902, in Guilford, the daughter of Robert E. and Martha (Cousins) Race. She graduated from Guilford High School in 1920 and from Eastern State Normal School at Castine in 1928. She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge for more than 60 years; was an active charter member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Cecil R. Cole Post 94; was a member of the World War I Penquis Barracks Auxiliary of Milo, the Eastern Star and the ladies fellowship of the Baptist Church of the Open Bible.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John J. and Diane Roberts of Greenville, Robert A. and Beverly Roberts of Flintville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Alan Roberts of Beaver Cove, Thomas Roberts of Greenville, Judith Collins of Greenville Jct. and Robin McKenney of Lacey Spring, Ala.; 10 great-grandchildren, and a special cousin, Harriet Colson of Guilford.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at McCrory Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will be in the family lot in Greenville Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to C.A. Dean Hospital Building Fund.
