MARSH MACBURNIE LOANE He graduated from Guilford High School in 1941 and attended Hebron Academy and also University of Maine. Marsh was a veteran of WW II serving as a Tech Sergeant in the Army Quartermaster Corps of both the European and Pacific Theaters. He became a Lieutenant in the National Guard after which Northrop Corporation of California employed him for 38 years. He traveled world wide as a field service engineer and instructor of the drone aircraft for the company. Marsh was a member of the Odd Fellows, and Mt. Kineo Masonic Lodge #109, both of Guilford, and was also a 32nd Degree Shriner through the Isis Masonic Lodge in Salinas, KS. His hobbies were playing his theater organ and being a Ham Radio operator. He loved talking with old and new friends over the ham radio. He is survived by his wife Barbara Foltz Fitzpatrick Loane, with whom he enjoyed 37 years of married life together, making their retirement home in Palmdale CA. He is also survived by his daughter Marsha Loane Hansen and her husband David of Greenville; step-sons, Larry Fitzpatrick, and Michael Fitzpatrick, both of Thousand Oaks, CA, Brian Fitzpatrick, of Seattle, WA, Bill Fitzpatrick and his wife Michele of Las Vegas, NV; a stepdaughter, Kathy Fitzpatrick Newholm and her husband Danny of Palmdale, CA; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Loane Buzzell, and her husband Sidney of Bangor, and Alice Loane Johnson, and her husband Richard of Wallingford, CT; and several nieces and nephews. Marsh was predeceased by his first wife, Sally French Loane of Guilford, who died in 1964. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2007, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street in Guilford, followed by a time for remembrance and refreshments at the Guilford United Methodist Church. Spring burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Guilford. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in his memory to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, or to the charity of their choice.
