MARY ELLEN RUSSELL
PALMYRA & HARTLAND – Mary Ellen Russell, 78, passed away December 14, 2010 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her family. She was born March 2, 1932 in Guilford, a daughter of Riley and Adeila (Parker) Stilson.

She was employed as a hairdresser in earlier years; worked as an activity director at Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility, Pittsfield, and later, enjoyed volunteering as an AA counselor. She enjoyed time spent in Deer Isle with her family and friends.

Mary Ellen is survived by her 3 children; Barry and wife Diana Russell of Hartland, Kelli and husband Brent Frost of Pittsfield, and Charles “Jeff” Russell of Etna; her grandchildren, Brady and wife Angie Brooks of Kentucky, Darrin and wife Kathy Dyer of Palmyra, Deanna and husband Mitchell Harris of Blaine, Sarah and Domenick Frost, both of Pittsfield; and great grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Kevin, Ashley, and Adrienne; a foster sister, Noreen Catlin of Palmyra; as well as special friends, Elaine Vigue, Jane Palmer, and her constant companion and loving pet “Murphy”.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Russell.

A celebration of her life will be held 5 PM Monday, December 20th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating.
