OBITUARIES

MERLE EDWIN DANCER
Merle Dancer GARLAND- Merle Edwin Dancer, 72, died October 20, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born August 2, 1938, in Garland, son of Richard and Erma (Knight) Dancer.

He served in the US Air Force. Merle worked at Dexter Shoe Company for over 30 years, and in later years, has been a volunteer driver for Lynx Transportation. He was a member of the Dexter Pentecostal Church, and has been serving the church as a Deacon.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Bernadette Parsons and her husband, Eugene of Garland, Antoinette Armstrong and her husband, Glen of Garland, and Rebecca Dancer and her companion, Angie Gendron of Dexter; a sister, Erma Francis Fletcher of Dexter; 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Joshua, and Chelsea; 2 great grandchildren, Parker and Hailee; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend and companion, Juanita of Garland. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold and a granddaughter, Veronica.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Monday October 25, 2010 at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, October 26th, at the Dexter Pentecostal Church with Pastor Lyman Curtis Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Garland.
