MICHELLE L. LAFFERTY
POQUOSON, VIRGINIA & NEWPORT – Michelle (Ray) Lafferty, 19, died June 14, 2006 at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was born February 7, 1987 at Parkersburg, West Virginia, a daughter of Michael and Diane (Zents) Ray. She had been a member of the Junior ROTC and was the director of Peds Wheels, a non-profit organization decorating wheelchairs for children.

In addition to her parents of Parkersburg, WV, and husband of VA, she is survived by a son, Remy Lafferty of Poquoson, VA; 2 brothers, Michael, Jr. and Steven Ray of Parkersburg, WV; and a sister, Sharon Arps of Columbus, Ohio; her mother in law, Lynn (Ludlow) Lafferty and nephew, Devin of Derry, NH. She was predeceased by her grandmother in law, Margie Ludlow.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6- 8 PM Tuesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, June 21st, at High Street Congregational Church, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating.
