MILDRED R. BERRY
NEWPORT & CORINNA - Mildred R. Berry, 79, died December 25, 2000 at the Detroit residence of her granddaughter, Michelle Tuttle. She was born December 18, 1921 at East Newport the daughter of Phillip and Bernice (Robichaud) Richardson. She graduated from Newport High School. During World War II, she worked at the South Portland Shipyard, and later, at the Adjutant General’s office in Washington, D.C. After moving back to Maine, she worked at Dexter Shoe Company in Newport, then at Banton Brother’s Mill in Newport until her retirement in 1990.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon.Mildred is survived by 4 sons, Sheldon, Jr. of Canaan, Gordon and his wife, Sheila of Pennsylvania, Keith of Newport, and Dale and his wife, Kathy of Corinna; 2 daughters, Judy Laplant and her husband, Larry of Stetson and Kathy Wolfe and her husband, Mack of Palmyra; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, December 29th, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
