OBITUARIES

MILLARD I. PATTEE
SANGERVILLE, Millard I. Pattee, 81, left us on November 4, 2002, following a short illness. He was born in Belfast, October 24, 1921, the second son of Warren L. and Lula (Bailey) Pattee. He lived in the Brooks area for many years and in 1955, moved with his family to Middleboro, Massachusetts. Staff Sergeant Pattee was a World War II Veteran who served in Barri, Italy as a radio repairman on the Army Air Force Planes. After the service, he learned to be a Genuine Hand Sewer under the GI Bill in Pittsfield, Maine and in Middleboro, Massachusetts. While in Middleboro, he was a call firefighter for over 20 years. In later years, he was an Auto Mechanic, retiring in 1986.After retirement, he moved back to Maine and made his home in Sangerville. In June 1987 he joined Abner Wade Masonic Lodge #207 of Sangerville and in 1994, became Master of the Lodge. He was also Past Patron of the Susie Carr Chapter #181 Order of the Eastern Star of Maine. During the past several years he held various offices in both organizations. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Bessie M. (Hunt) Pattee in 1985.

He is survived by two sons, Anthony G. Pattee of Florida and Lyman E. Pattee and his wife, Doris Pattee of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; two daughters and their husbands, Betty-Lou and Robert Buffington of Middleboro, and Sherry P. and William R. Hall of Kingston, Massachusetts; a brother and his wife, Clayton and Ethel Pattee of Brooks; two nieces, Linda Pattee of Brooks and Jackie Bradeen of Unity; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many great nieces and nephews; a special sister-in-law, Dolores E. Hunt with whom he made his home in Sangerville until the time of his death.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak Street in Guilford. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service. Private graveside services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Abner Wade Masonic Lodge #207, c/o John Greenleaf, Sec., P.O. Box 251, Monson, ME 04464-0251, or to the charity of your choice.
