NANCY "NAN" PELLETIER She attended schools in Waterville and graduated from Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Class of 1975. Nan has been an integral part of Charles A. Dean Hospital and Nursing Home for the past 31 years. She started her career in 1979 as a CNA and held many positions including medical assistant, EMT, and administrative assistant. She stepped in as acting CEO on two occasions. She became the VP of Operations and eventually took on the role of Director of Human Resources. Nan was extremely passionate about CA Dean and was the glue that kept the employees together. She was the first female on the Greenville Board of Selectmen, serving from 1988 to 1996. She also served on the boards of Greenville Recreation Dept., Womancare, Hospice, American Heart Association, and was an active member of the Moosehead Historical Society. She was also an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management as well as numerous other committees and affiliations within C. A. Dean Memorial Hospital & Nursing Home and the Eastern Maine Healthcare System. Nan traveled throughout the Northeast, managing several of her son Ethan's many hockey teams, bringing her close to not only Ethan's fellow athletes, but also an extended community of supportive parents and friends. She is survived by her husband, Ronald "Ron" Pelletier, of Greenville; 2 children, Addie Pelletier and Ethan Pelletier, both of Greenville; her parents of Falmouth; 4 sisters, CynthiaWolman and her husband, Michael, of Vassalboro; Carole Ray and her husband, George, of Ellsworth; Wendy Desrochers and her husband, Dennis, of Pownal; Jan Keith of Durham; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Amanda Thaller, and her husband, John, who have often shared their home with Nan's family. Janice Pelletier of Orono, Ron's sister, also shared a special relationship with Nan and her family. Nan is also cherished by Ron's father, his five other children, their partners, and families. Friends may call Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Greenville Chapel of Crosby & Neal, located at the Masonic Building, 281 Pritham Ave., Greenville. A celebration of Nan's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Sunday, May 23, 2010 in the Greenville High School auditorium with Rev. Steve Nuite officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that she be remembered with donations to honor her passionate commitment to C.A. Dean; or to recognize her devotion to the holistic education of her children.
