NEWMAN B. GEE
ST. ALBANS - Newman Brannen Gee, 50, died unexpectedly March 9, 2006 as the result of a logging accident. He was born February 19, 1956 at Waterville, a son of John and Patricia (Brannen) Gee. Newman graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1975, and attended Southern Maine Community College. He was a self-employed farrier, knee logger, furniture maker and sculptor, owning “Newman’s Knees”, a business located on the family farm, where he was raised. He was a member of the Farm Family Association, the Maine Wood Products Association, Valley Arts Alliance, Chairman of the St. Albans Housing Corporation and the St. Albans Budget Committee. He was also a past selectman, a former volunteer firefighter, and past member of the planning board and the comprehensive plan committee for the Town of St. Albans.

In addition to his mother, Patricia Brannen Pearson of St. Albans, and his father and step-mother, John and Kitty Gee of Chesterville, he is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Christina (McCarty) Gee of St. Albans; two sons, Brannen and Devin, both of St. Albans; a brother, Michael and wife Christine Gee, and daughter Courtney of South China; 3 sisters, Evelyn and Bill Kieltyka and daughter Molly of Winthrop, Pamela Gee and her partner Pat Cuva of Portland, Janyce and husband Bob Volodkevich and daughters, Maria and Katie of Sammamish, Washington; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 15th, at the St. Albans Town Hall, with the Rev. Shandi Mawokomatanda officiating. A private committal service will be held at Grace Linn United Methodist Church in Hartland following the funeral.
