Norman F. Church
NEWPORT – Norman F. Church 82, died January 8, 2014 at a Skowhegan health care facility. He was born April 6, 1931 in Guilford, a son of Edward and Isabelle (Burgess) Church. He attended Guilford schools and worked in the woods with his brothers and father. Later, he worked at the Dover Tanning Company before becoming a wool washer at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna.

He attended several local churches. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Norman was proud to be a member of many local organizations: the Central Grange in Dover-Foxcroft and the former Eastville Grange in East Newport, the Mt. Kineo Lodge IOOF, Phlentoma Lodge IOOF; Wassokeag Chapter OES, the Penobscot Lodge Masons, St. John’s Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, and the Tri-County Shrine Club, all of Dexter, the Anah Shrine in Bangor, the Knights Templar Order of the Samaritans, Skowhegan, the Victoria Rebekah Lodge in Newport, and the Newport Senior Citizens.

He is survived by a brother, Keith Church of Winslow; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special niece Nancy and her husband David Tozier of St. Albans.

He was predeceased by 4 sisters, Vivian Church, Virginia Harrington, Crystal Weeks, and Donna Downs; and a brother Maynard.

Spring graveside committal services will be held at the Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com
