NORMAN F. FOSS SR.
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Norman F. Foss Sr., 76, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Jan. 19, 2005, at his residence at Riverview Apts., with his wife, Joan, and his daughter, Tracey, at his side. He was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Gouldsboro, the son of Harry and Hildred (Tracy) Foss. In 1951, Norman married Joan Butler of Dover-Foxcroft and they spent 54 years together and raised five children. They lived on Pine Street in Dover-Foxcroft for most of those years. Norman was a Korean War veteran who served proudly in both the Air Force and Army. After working on construction for many years he was hired by the Town of Dover-Foxcroft Public Works and retired as Supervisor several years ago. He was a member of the VFW. He loved the coast of Maine where he grew up and visited there often in earlier years, referring to Gouldsboro as "down home".

He leaves behind many loved ones, his wife Joan; his children, Ruth Ann Malcolm, and her husband, Perry, in Waterville, Norman Jr. and his wife, Shirley, in Biddeford, Margaret Ann Thompson and her husband, Ivan, in Newburgh, James Allie in Fort Worth, Texas, and Tracey and her fiance, Dean McEwen, in Atkinson. He had beautiful grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, and Michel Hughes, Josh Dobson, Christopher and Cassandra Foss, Kiley Foss, Sarah Thompson, and Sheila McEwen and spirited great- grandchildren, Jasmyne, Krista, Mariah, Jordon, Torrie, Olivia, and Ethan. He leaves a sister-in-law, Eleanor Foss from Gouldsboro and a cousin, Neila Young in Gouldsboro. He will be remembered by his extended family, Chris and Joey Tozier. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Elliott L. Foss.

Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery.
