Paul A. Nichols, Sr Paul had been employed at Irving Tanning Company in Hartland for more than 40 years. For several years, he proudly served as a police officer, firefighter, and Fire Chief for the town of Pittsfield. For the last several years, he was employed at Varney Ford in Newport. He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for hunting and fishing. There are very few bodies of water in Maine where he hadn’t caught a fish and most of the time he caught more than his share. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Jeannie Nichols, who passed away two years ago. Together they enjoyed the Maine coast in the summertime, as well as many trips to Florida, and several Caribbean cruises. Paul will be sadly missed. He is survived by his children, Paul Nichols, Jr. and wife Camille of Plant City, FL, Lisa Martin and husband Jason of Fairfield, Timothy Nichols and wife Dale, and James Nichols, all of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Tim, Tammy, Mathew, Jessica, Jeannie, JoAnna, Sean, Amanda, Seannon, Haylee, and Hunter; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 49 years, he was predeceased by his parents and a grandson, Dekkar McNally. A remembrance of his life will be held from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday, December 20th at the Driftbusters Snowmobile Club, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, catch a fish, smile, and think of Paul. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com
