OBITUARIES

PAUL K. LEVENSALOR
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Paul K. Levensalor, 73, died July 23, 2006, at Hibb-ard Nursing Home. He was born Feb. 28, 1933, in Milo, the son of Gordon and Elizabeth (Lovell) Levensalor. Paul graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1953 and was active in the sports program. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Germany. He worked for Central Maine Power Co. for 36 years and was very proud of the ring he was awarded upon retirement. Paul attended the Atkinson Methodist Church. As a sixth degree member of the East Dover Grange, he was past chairman of the State Grange Youth Committee. He belonged to the Antique Power Association and for many years he was a member of the Piscataquis Valley Fair Association, serving as pulling chairman. He was active with the Forty and Eight and the American Legion, and enjoyed many a tasty supper. He was a people person and liked everyone. His generosity, keen sense of humor, and repertoire of jokes will live on. For more than 40 years, the Boy Scouts of America were a priority for Paul. He was a den leader and Scout master. He served as a member of Penquis District Camping and Activities Committee, on the Camping and Activity Board of the Katahdin Area Council BSA, on the Executive Board KAC, and on the Board of Governors of Maine High Adventure KAC. He contributed to the James E. West Trust. Paul and Elaine hosted many camporees and cub overnighters at the family farm. He was assistant Scout master for KAC scouts at the National Jamboree at Fort A. P. Hill, Penn. in 1983. He was awarded the Silver Beaver, the Penquis Medal of Honor, the Vigil rank in the Order of the Arrow, and the Electrician's Union Award for Scouting.

He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Oleniczak and husband, Steve and their three children, Shane, Paul and Mandy Oleniczak, Marie H. Weatherbee and husband, David and their children, Beth and Heath Weatherbee; a great-granddaughter, Vanessa Cousins; a sister, Hellen Hellenbrand; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Elaine Heath, June 6, 2006.

Friends are invited to call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 28, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A celebration of Paul's life will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at the Atkinson Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rudy Homchuck officiating. A time of fellowship and sharing will be after the service at the church. Burial will be in the family lot in Dover Cemetery.
