RAYMOND CARLYLE WHITNEY JR Ray was a veteran of WWII and flew 35 missions as a pilot in the 12th Air Force. He married Dorothy (Hammond) Whitney and was associated with his father and brother in the oil business in Dexter. He was a past master of Cambridge Masonic Lodge and a member of Anah Shrine in Bangor. He served on many town committees and was a long time director of the Dexter Utility District. He is survived by his wife of Greenville, a son, Douglas Whitney of Greenville; two grand daughters, Darcy Hall, and Derica Martin both of Greenville; and six great grand children, Dylan, Bailey, and Charles Martin, and Ethan, Jessica, and Sarah Hall. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Whitney. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at the Memorial Garden Cemetery in Cambridge, with Pastor A.
