OBITUARIES

RAYMOND E. GAGNE
PITTSFIELD—Raymond E. Gagne, 67, passed away July 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born January 5, 1941 in Waterville, a son of Raymond and Katherine (Elias) Gagne . Ray graduated from Maine Central Institute, Class of 1959. He served in the United States Army as a specialist until 1966, and graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA in 1969. Ray was employed by Stone-Webster, building nuclear power plants for 13 years, before returning to Maine, where he worked for Guilford Industries in Newport, retiring in 2003. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing and spent his last years living in Greenville.

Ray is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Gail R. Hersey of Pittsfield; four children, Reginald and wife Valerie Tyler of Brooks, Ben Tyler of Auburn, Raymond Gagne and wife, Jennifer Hopkins of Hartland, and Christina Gagne and husband Rob Keresey of Pittsfield; a sister, Elizabeth Calise of New York City; 11 grandchildren.

A graveside committal service will be held 1 P.M. Friday, July 11th at the Pittsfield Village Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may sign an online guest register at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
