OBITUARIES
RAYMOND LEE STONE
GARLAND—Raymond Lee Stone, 84, died December 13, 2006 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born February 3, 1922 in Garland, a son of Leonard and Clara (Butters) Stone. Lee lived in the same house all of his life in West Garland and graduated from Garland High School. He was a member of the Exeter Historical Society and Poulliot-Seavey Post #53 American Legion. He was a former member of the Garland Planning Board and a charter director of the Dexter Regional Federal Credit Union. Lee served as an Army medic at the Normandy invasion during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a loving and caring husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Edith of Garland; 2 daughters, Joanne and husband Peter Prescott of Dexter and Jayne Stone of Garland; a brother, Paul Stone of Exeter; a granddaughter, Sarah and husband Brian Mills of Waterboro; sister-in-law, Evelyn P. Lawrence of Pittsfield; 2 brothers-in-law, Carl and wife Loraine Palmer of Exeter and Rev. John Palmer of Washburn; a niece, nephews and several cousins
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, December 16th at the Garland Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Brennan officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of services.
