Raymond "Ray" Sears PARKMAN- Raymond "Ray" Sears, 86, died October 12, 2012, at his home in Parkman. He was born July 10, 1926, in Reading, MA, the son of John and Ada (Gabry) Sears. He served in the US Army in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a "jack of all trades". He worked as a care taker at a boys camp in Naples, and also for several property owners, including overseer of the sheep herd at the Piel Farm in Abbot. Ray was probably best known as the "Lawn Mower Man". He was a charter member of the Big Pine Gun Club and served as president for many years. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor "Ellie" Sears. He is survived by a daughter, Lynda Sears and close friend, Rhonda Merrill of Concord, CA; a sister, Thelma Garstang and her husband, Dick of NH; a sister-in-law, Betty Tower of Sangerville; and several nieces and nephews.
