OBITUARIES

RICHARD A. ELDERKIN SR
PARKMAN- Richard A. Elderkin Sr., 73, died February 11, 2010, at his home in Parkman. He was born November 14, 1936 in Cambridge, son of Maynard and Winona (Austin) Elderkin. He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked for Pride Manufacturing for 36 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a very giving man who loved life and his projects. He loved all sports including baseball, basketball and football. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially 4-wheeling and ice fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Winnie (Moulton) Elderkin of Parkman; 2 daughters, Judith Howard of Augusta, and Debby Willis and her husband, Jerry of Gardiner; a son, Mike Elderkin and his wife, Gerri of Abbot; 5 grandsons, Kurt Howard, Craig Howard, Roy Trice, Dylan Elderkin and Jeremy Elderkin; 2 great grandchildren, Sicily Howard and Warren Richard Elderkin; 2 brothers, Galen Elderkin and his wife, Debbie of Sangerville, and David Elderkin and his wife, Cathy of Parkman; 5 sisters, Carolyn Bickmore and her husband, David of AZ, Patricia Johnson and her husband Kenneth of Parkman, Joyce Drinkwater and her husband, Robert of Ripley, Linda Brown of AZ, and Pamela Knight and her husband, Larry of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Richard "Butch" Elderkin Jr., in 1995.

At his request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice, Community Health and Counseling Services, 1093 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
