OBITUARIES

RICHARD ALTON DEXTER
SEBEC - Richard Alton Dexter, 74, died Sept. 24, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1930, in North Dexter, the son of Elmer and Marjorie (Crowell) Dexter. Richard served in the Navy Air Force. He was employed by Maine Leathers Tanning and later employed as a maintenance engineer and ambulance attendant for many years at Mayo Regional Hospital. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.

He is survived by two daughters, Joeene E. Boone and husband, Bert and Anita K. Chadwick and husband, Fred, all of Dover-Foxcroft; three grandchildren, Tom Boone, Tim Boone and Laurie Smith and husband, Brian; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Morgan Smith, Timothy Jr. and Dustin Boone; several step-children; a sister-in-law, Ruth Dexter; a niece, Hope; two nephews, Calvin and Gordon. He will be fondly remembered by special friends, Vickie and Bud Early, Heidi and Sharon. Richard was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Roland G. Dexter.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the family lot in Dover Cemetery, with Pastor Joshua Ben Canaan officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, Maine Affiliate, Inc., 163 Lancaster St., Suite 98R, Portland ME 04101. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
