RICHARD JOSEPH MANGAN, JR.
BEAVER COVE- Richard Joseph Mangan, Jr., 86, died October 29, 2006 in Medford, MA. He was born January 20, 1920, in Charlestown, MA, son of the late Richard Sr. and Margaret (Kenny) Mangan. Formerly of Somerville and South Boston, MA, he was one of the founding fathers of the Town of Beaver Cove, Maine. A World War II Army veteran, and past commander of the VFW Logan Post in Somerville, MA, he was formerly employed by the Boston Naval Shipyard.

He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Myers), devoted father of Ellen Joyce Cullen and her husband, Gerard of Middleboro, MA, and Sheila Mason and her husband, Robert of Medford, MA. He was predeceased by a son, Denis, and daughter, Margaret Midge Smith and her husband, Brian. He was lovingly known as Dickie Jo to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Louise Delgreco and her husband, Nickolas of East Boston and William and his wife, Mary of Arlington. He was a dear uncle of many nieces and nephews and was a brother-in-law to Barbara Shea of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 4, 2006, at Crosby & Neal, Greenville Chapel, in the Masonic building, 281 Pritham Ave., Greenville. Friends may call from 11:00 AM, until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the C. A. Dean Hospital Ambulance Fund, P.O.
