ROBERT F. CLUKEY
KENNEBUNK - Robert F.Clukey, 51, of Kennebunk died suddenly at his home on Sunday, May 9, 2004. He was born in Waterville to Maurice and the late Faith Skillin Clukey and graduated from Dexter High School. He continued his education at the University of Maine in Orono with a bachelor's of science in education and received his master's of business administration from the University of Southern Maine.

He had worked for the last 27 years in the field of education: 10 years as a teacher, one year as a distinguished educator for the State Department of Education and 16 years as a school administrator, most recently for the past eight years as principal of Carl J. Lamb School in Sanford.

Bob will be remembered as a man who took great joy in working with children, both his own and those entrusted to him. He was an avid sports fan and he especially enjoyed his sojourns to South Bend, Ind., to experience the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Bob had a true love of learning and was never seen without a book, an article or a study nearby.

His greatest joy in life was his family. His enormous love and pride for his three daughters, Amelia, Julia and Olivia, was evident from the moment you met him. He was supportive and rarely missed an opportunity to watch them participate in their many sporting endeavors. Bob also deeply loved his stepchildren, Michael, Cristina, Kathy and Robbie, and his four grandsons. He is and forever will be missed by his loving wife, Kathryn.

Survivors also include his father, Maurice Clukey, and Marilyn Bolduc of Dexter; his aunt, Esther Breard of Oakland; his aunt and uncle, Marice and Bob Hartley of New York; as well as his aunt and uncle, Iris and Albert Beaupre of Florida; Richard and Janet Bowden, his parents-in-law, of Wells; their children; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., in Kennebunk. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Curtis Lake Christian Church on Westview Drive in Sanford, with the Rev. Knight presiding, with burial to follow at Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
