ROBERT L. POMEROY He was born July 19, 1952, in Camp Lejeune, NC, the son of Wilfred and Ardena (Cook) Pomeroy. Bob was a graduate of Jay High School, Class of 1972. He then served with the U.S. Army as a bio-medical technician. Bob moved to Dover-Foxcroft in 1981 to be general manager and later owner of Rowell's Garage, thus being the third generation to operate the family business. He considered Dover-Foxcroft his home for it was the longest place he had ever lived. Bob was an active community member, serving on the Board of Appeals, the Budget Advisory Committee, Pine Crest Development Corporation, and the Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society. From 1998-2007 he was a member of the HAD #4 Board and also served as treasurer. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Karen, and his two children, who were the center of his life, Elyse of Portland and Andrew of Boston. He could often be seen pacing the field or gym at a field hockey game, football game, or wrestling meet encouraging his children to succeed. He is also survived by his sisters, Wendy Hanson and Melody Delot of Jay. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Billy and Wayne. Friends are invited to a celebration of Bob's life 1 pm Friday, November 14, at Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft, with Rev. Rex Garrett of Eastern Maine Medical Center officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Mayo Regional Hospital, 891 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, 04426 or the Maine Warden Service, Greenville Regional Headquarters, PO Box 551, Greenville 04441.
