ROBERT W. (HERSEY) BUZZELL
Pittsfield: Robert W. (Hersey) Buzzell 69 died unexpectedly Oct. 16, 2004 following a long struggle with Asthma and Emphysema. He was born in Newport April 5, 1935 the adopted son of Clyde and Margie (Perry) Buzzell. He graduated from Pittsfield Schools and married Nellie J. Starbird of Athens on June 16, 1956. He worked in woolen mills, shoe shops, canning factories, and was owner and operator of R.W. Buzzell Water Wells for ten years. After this he worked for Scott Paper Co. and then worked for Sappie Paper Co retiring in 1997. He and his wife Nellie traveled the country in their motor home for nine years. They have spent the last few winters in Interlachen, Florida and summers in Pittsfield. Robert was and honorary member of the Pittsfield Fire Department, a life long member of the Pittsfield Driftbusters Snowmobile Club, a member of the Tri-County Trail Riders ATV Club, the Western Maine ATV Club, and a long time member of the Fin and Feather Club of Millinocket. Robert lived in the same house all of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobile, ATVing, and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Nellie J. Buzzell of Pittsfield, one son Edwin C. Buzzell of Moxie Gore, Me., one granddaughter Sumuria M. Buzzell and one grandson Nathan W. Buzzell both of Bass Harbor, one great grandson Alexander E. McMann of Pittsfield, on great granddaughter Aislynn A. Buzzell of Bas Harbor. He is also survived by three sisters Audrey Mueller of Lowell, Indiana, Bunny Dana of Bangor, and Edith McGinnis of Detroit, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Ernest E. Hersey Jr., Norman L. (Bill) Hersey and one sister Dorothy Fish.

Graveside services will be conducted 2PM Wednesday Oct 20, 2004 at the Etna Cemetery in Etna with Rev. Roy Blevins officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Brown Funeral Home 34 High Street Newport, Me.
