ROGER A. WELTS
ABBOT, Roger A. Welts, 81, died unexpectedly on February 2, 2010 at his home in Abbot. He was born September 18, 1928 in Parkman, the son of Alston and Elizabeth (Hodgdon) Welts. Roger graduated from Guilford High School and attended the University of Maine at Orono for two years. He had a great love for the outdoors and animals, and worked in the woods before serving 2 years in Viet Nam for the US Navy.

Roger is survived by 2 daughters, Ronda Bartholomew of PA, and Roxanne Faison of FL; 2 sons, Roger and Rockney Shepheard, both of GA; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jean Durham and Anne Donovan, both of Belfast; 2 aunts, Minnie Bridge of Parkman and Donna Wagoner of IA; and a close friend, Barbara Morales of Parkman. Roger was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Gousy.

A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring at the Elmwood Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Roger's memory may be made to Donald W.
