Roger Lander Simpson Roger graduated from Corinna Union Academy, class of 1940 and married Muriel I. French, June 1, 1945. Roger held several jobs throughout the years, one of which was as substitute mail carrier, but his greatest joy was carrying on his father's legacy as a dairy farmer, which he then carried on with his son. Roger is survived by two children: daughter, Alice M. Duthie of Augusta and friend, Steve Cogswell of Freeport, and son, Ronald H. Simpson Sr. and wife, Beth, of Corinna; six grandchildren, Debbie Duthie of Augusta, Amy Webster of Old Orchard Beach, Adam Wyman and wife, Kristen, of Cambridge, and Sarrah, Samantha and RJ Simpson of Corinna; four great-grandchildren, Katie, Colby, Hunter and Emma; nephews, Kenneth and Keith Veazie; special nephew, Eric Libby; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, John French and wife, Charlene- of Atkinson; son-in-law, Thomas Wyman of Biddeford; and many other extended family members. Roger was predeceased by his wife, Muriel; daughter, Althea; son-in-law, George R. Duthie; two sisters, Christine and Phyllis; and brother, Robert. Roger along with his stories and wit will be greatly missed by his many friends and family, including Elmer and Ann Zimmerman, Phil and Georgia Cossar, Arlene Hersey, Suzanna, Catherine and Karen Martin; and Roger's dog, Dick. Thank you to the staff of Mayo Hospital for their care and assistance. A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Corinna Center Cemetery, with Pastor Sam McKeen of Cambridge, officiating. After the service, friends and relatives are invited to the farm for a time of refreshment and fellowship. Those who wish may make donations to their local animal shelter or the humane society. Memorial services and cremation are in care of Thompson Funeral Home.
