OBITUARIES

ROLAND G. "JUNIOR" DORMAN
EXETER—Roland G. Dorman, 81, died May 17, 2004 surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 2, 1923 at Bangor a son of Roland and Angie (Stoddard) Dorman, Sr. He attended Corinna Union Academy and enlisted in the U. S. Army during his junior year. He served in Africa and the European Theatres during WWII. After the war, he worked with his father-in-law, John Rockwell, raising potatoes for 23 years; and later operated Double D Farms with his sons for 36 years. Roland was a member of the Parian Lodge, A.F. & A.M. of Corinna, the Anah Shrine, the Corinna American Legion Post #73, the Maine Potato Commission, a past member of the Corinna Fire Department and Past President of the Tri-County Shrine. Roland also served as a Selectman for the Town of Exeter for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia (Rockwell) Dorman of Exeter; 5 sons, John and wife Linda Dorman of Exeter, Roland and wife Betsy Dorman of Corinna, Gary and wife Cynthia Dorman of Newport, Jeffry and wife Patty Dorman of Exeter, and Brent and wife Priscilla Dorman of Stetson; grandchildren, Randy and wife Pam Dorman, Angela and husband Wade McCrum, Kenneth and wife Angela Dorman, Lynne and husband Weston Fling, Ian Dorman, Amanda Dorman and fiancé Jeffrey White, Jeffry Dorman, Jr., Nathan Dorman, Joshua Dorman, Jennifer Dorman, Israel Dorman, Shawn Dorman, Christina Dorman, Laura Dorman, Adam Robinson, Brandy Robinson; great grandchildren, Dayna, Keara and Samantha McCrum, Emma Dorman, Robert Dorman, Devon Fling, Ethan Dorman, Hannah Dorman; his mother-in-law, Margaret Webber of St. Albans; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Dorman of MA and Tressa Hartford of CT; several nieces and nephews; his extended family, Robert and Doris Young and family, Rob and Stacy Young and their children, Gavin and Lillian, Walter and Dianna Rybka and their children, Kyle and Jason, and Donna Young and her children, Joshua and Zachary; special friends, Sterling and Gail Wilson of Corinth, Paul and Jessie Leonard of Newport, and his many friends in Brooklin. He was predeceased by a brother Vernon and a sister, Arlene Brown.

A Masonic graveside service will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 22nd at the Exeter Center Cemetery. Following the Masonic service, the Rev. Chris Faloon will officiate at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shrine Children’s Hospital, c/o Anah Shrine, P O Box 735, Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna.
