OBITUARIES

RUTH E. LEAVITT
CORINNA & FARMINGTON—Ruth E. Leavitt, 70, died February 19, 2004 at a Farmington hospital. She was born November 22, 1933 at Newport a daughter of Earl and Rosalie (Johonnot) Nelson, Sr. She attended Newport High School, graduating from Nokomis Regional High. Ruth retired after 27 years as a spinner at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Stanley Leavitt, Sr. of Farmington; a son, Stanley Leavitt, Jr. and wife Norma of Sangerville; a daughter, Donna Keaten of Farmington; 2 brothers, Earl Nelson, Jr. of Madison, James Nelson and wife Lisa of Phoenix, AZ; 3 sisters, Madeline Anderson of Skowhegan, Joanne Whitney and husband Roger of Corinna, Ramona Patterson and husband John of Abbot; 3 grandchildren, Tammy Barker, Brian Leavitt and Randall Keaten; and 2 great grandchildren, Jacob Barker and Rylee Keaten. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Randall A. Keaten.

There will be no visitation. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held in the spring at the Morse’s Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna.
