RUTH J. (SMART) JONES
GUILFORD & MONSON & ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, Ruth J. (Smart) Jones, 72, wife of the late Francis F. Jones, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, September 18, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. She was born February 24, 1932, in Parkman, the daughter of the late Howard and Glenys (Wharf) Smart. She attended Guilford schools and attended Piscataquis Community High School. She was a 50 year member of the Golden Link Rebekah Lodge #37, a member of the Somerset Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant, Ladies Encampment Auxiliary, a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills, and former member of the Tisbury Manor D.A.R. She was President of the Rebekah Assembly of Maine from 1983-1984.

She is survived by her children, Roberta “Bobbie Jean” Crocket and her husband James of Monson, Gloria Harriman and her husband Barry of Wells; Ivan “Mike” Jones of Bangor, and David Jones and his wife Helen of Dover-Foxcroft; seven grandchildren, Gene Crockett and his wife, April, Cathy Hill and her husband, Anthony, Bill Rumery, Kirk Jones, Jason Jones and his wife, Shannon, Tyler Jones, and Corey Jones; eight great grandchildren, Chelsea and Casey Crockett, Justin Ames, Caleb and Connor Hill, Austen, Emma, and Gaven Jones; two sisters, Sylvia Kallgren and her husband, Blaine, and Roberta Jeffries and her husband, Bruce, all from Zephyrhills; three brothers, Richard Smart of Mexico, Thomas Smart and his wife, Carolyn of Zephyrhills, John Smart and his wife, Lois of Holden; a special aunt, Mary Reed of Bar Harbor; several nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by a special friend, Rita Sargent, and all of her friends who are members of the Rebekah and Odd Fellows Lodges.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak Street in Guilford with Pastor A. Maurice Neal officiating.
