SALLY L. JAMES
WILLIMANTIC, Sally L. James, 79, formerly of Dighton, Mass. died Nov. 8, 2000, at a Dover-Foxcroft Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 11, 1921 in E. Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of William and Julia (McCloskey) Gray. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Providence. She worked as a registered nurse at Union Hospital in Fall River, Mass. and at Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home in E. Providence. Later she volunteered at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft and served on the Willimantic Board of Health.

She is survived and loved by her husband of 57 years, Gordon E. James of Willimantic and five children, Judith Buswick of Chelmsford, Mass., Susan Tufts of Woodbridge, Virginia, Russell James of Dighton, Mass., Edwin James of Raleigh, North Carolina, Julia St. Yves of Lakeville, Mass.; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandaughters and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 PM Friday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Lloyd Rozelle officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Willimantic.
