OBITUARIES

TRUMAN R. ARCHER JR
ST. ALBANS, Truman R. Archer Jr., 75, died unexpectedly May 28, 2006, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was born June 17, 1930, in Waterbury, CT, son of Truman and Kathleen (Wheeler) Archer Sr.

He was a Sargent 1st Class in the 505 Airborne Infantry Division of the US Army, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was also a Jumpmaster with the Special Forces, 82nd Airborne Division and was decorated with several medals, badges and commendations, including a Bronze Star. He served his country for 22 years before retiring in 1969.

After his military career, he was employed by Abbott Realty and Cookson Realty for many years before his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed gardening and skeet shooting. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, S.A.M., and the NRA.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ryoko (Sachi) Archer, his parents, and 2 brothers, Richard and Carl. He is survived by 2 sons, Les Archer of St. Albans, and Keith Archer of Allentown, PA; 2 daughters, Laurel Berg of Sanford, FL, and Tammy Cloney and her husband, Philip of Scarborough; 2 brothers, Wayne Archer and his wife, Barbara of Bantam, CT, and Elliot Archer of Corinna; 5 grandchildren, Chad, Vincent, Danielle, Kevin, and Shirley; a great grandson, Vincent; several nieces and nephews. You are loved and will be missed.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 5, 2006, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., in Dexter.
