VELLA H. JOHNSON
DOVER-FOXCROFT and WATERVILLE- Vella H. Johnson, 80, wife of the late Homer R. Johnson, died April 19, 2002, at a Waterville nursing home. She was born July 31, 1921, the daughter of Albert and Vera (Bruce) Harrison. Vella was a former Avon representative in the Dover-Foxcroft area and had worked for many years as a cook at Hibbard Nursing Home. She was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church and the 3-M Club and the East Dover Grange.

She is survived by two daughters, Zelma Conner and her husband, Darrel of Palmyra, Joan Hume of North New Portland; a brother, Paul Harrison of Dover-Foxcroft; three grandchildren, Michelle Hume, Nikki Conner, and Crystal McGinnis; two great-grandchildren, Karlie McGinnis and Joseph Hume, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends are invited to call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24. Burial will be in the family lot in Dover Cemetery.
